Project + Building Compatibility
Project Type
Both existing building retrofits and new construction
Essential Building Characteristics
Standard 120V/15A outlet within reach (no extension cords). 30" wide opening. Stove weighs 354 lbs.
Ideal Building Characteristics
Multifamily buildings — especially older buildings where electric panel upgrades are cost-prohibitive — and any home where adding a 240V circuit isn't practical.
Minimum Project Size
1 stove. Copper sells single units to homeowners and units at scale to multifamily housing providers.
Ideal Project Size
No ideal project size, however larger orders unlock pricing and dedicated install support. Copper can install multiple units at a time for multi-unit buildings.
Additional Considerations
To opperate the Charlie stove, induction-compatible cookware is needed (no aluminum or copper-bottom). For installation, a dedicated 120V/15A outlet within 72" of the stove is ideal, recessed if possible. No additional equipment required.
NY Contractor Availability
Copper has built an active network of vetted New York installers.
Other Screening Criteria
For buildings with stairs, it's critical to use the right equipment, such as a stair-climbing hand truck or lifting straps, as the stove is heavy. A tour of a specific building is required for multifamily projects to ensure successful installations.
