Resident Experience

During Installation

Very minimal disruption. All the work happens in the basement or hall meter closets. No access to individual units is required.

Residents are required by law to be notified when a building is switching to submetering, and DaisyChain assists buildings in carrying out these communications with explanatory materials and decks.

Once all the equipment is installed and the master meter is in place, there is a brief one to two hour window during the switchover to submeters when residents are without electricity.

Post Installation

Tenants see a change in who is sending them their utility bills. Tenants pay the utility bills to the property owner or co-op. Real-time data from metering and monitoring allows for smarter decisions for maintenance and upgrades, resulting in greater reliability and comfort for residents.
