Announcing the Ten Companies Selected to the International Landing Pad

We are thrilled to announce the ten world-class companies selected to the premier cohort of the International Landing Pad program, focused on decarbonizing New York City’s built environment — the buildings and infrastructure where New Yorkers live, work, and move.

Decarbonizing New York City’s built environment is critical to realize a cleaner, more affordable, more resilient future for all who call New York home. Not only is the built environment the city’s largest source of greenhouse gas emissions, inefficient buildings and infrastructure drive up energy costs that are often passed on to working people and New Yorkers. Decarbonization improves energy efficiency and affordability. It also reduces the dangerous pollution that contributes to asthma and other health emergencies, while creating good paying local jobs, economic opportunity, and greener communities.

In collaboration with New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), we have recruited best-in-class international companies — hailing from Malaysia, India, Ireland, Canada, the UK, Finland, Sweden, and Norway — with solutions that can help modernize New York City’s built environment. They range from cutting-edge heating and cooling technologies to high-impact building intelligence and energy infrastructure platforms, to novel energy storage solutions. The selected companies are:

HEATING AND COOLING

  • Carbon Cap Inc. (Canada) creates retrofit heating and cooling systems for multifamily buildings that recover waste heat and reduce energy consumption, helping buildings cut emissions without a full electrification overhaul.

  • iHandal (Malaysia) uses proprietary heat pump technology to capture and recycle waste heat from commercial and industrial buildings into usable clean energy, delivering heating-as-a-service with no upfront hardware costs.

  • 3eFlow (Sweden) upgrades existing hot-water pipe risers in occupied multifamily buildings to eliminate circulation losses and cut domestic hot water energy use by 40%

BUILDING INTELLIGENCE + RETROFIT

  • Birdsview (Norway) delivers real-time 3D insight inside concrete buildings and structures, reducing risk, time, and cost in retrofit projects through AI-powered, non-destructive structural visibility.

  • Senze (UK) offers an AI measurement tool that surveys buildings and produces accurate retrofit plans using thermal data and digital twins, replacing costly guesswork with verified data.

  • Smart Joules (India) provides an AI-powered building management system for commercial buildings designed to self-learn from user behaviour and energy usage patterns in buildings 24/7, making sustainability simple and profitable.

ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE PLATFORMS

  • Electron (UK) helps electricity grid operators make better use of the millions of small, distributed energy sources - like batteries, solar panels, and smart devices - already connected to the grid, so they can deliver reliable, affordable power without always building expensive new infrastructure.

  • Exante (Ireland) is redefining insurance by making it instant, automated, and embedded-turning protection into a seamless, data-driven service. Exante was a winner of the $1M NYSERDA Insurance Innovation Prize.

ENERGY STORAGE

  • Elstor (Finland) provides a modular thermal energy storage system that stores electricity from the cheapest hours of the day as heat (500°C). That stored energy can then be flexibly discharged as steam and heat for utility, district energy, and industrial applications.

  • Enersion (Canada) offers a high-density thermal energy storage system using advanced phase change materials that enables up to 6x more energy storage within a significantly smaller footprint, making it ideal for space-constrained urban environments.

“New York City has always been a place where innovators come together to solve big challenges. Through the International Landing Pad, we're helping some of the world's most promising climate technology companies build relationships, launch projects, and create jobs here in New York. We're proud to help these companies establish roots in New York City and contribute to a cleaner, more prosperous future for all New Yorkers ” said The Clean Fight’s Managing Director Kate Frucher.

The International Landing Pad program, or ILPN, is designed to help international companies overcome some of the toughest barriers to New York City market-entry. Through tailored business development with leading customers, matchmaking with capital providers, and eligibility for companies to apply for grants from $50k-$250k to unlock their first New York City deployments, the ILPN is helping businesses building lasting roots here — opening offices, creating quality jobs, and launching new products that shape the future of New York City’s economy. To date, The Clean Fight has helped more than 70+ companies scale their solutions in New York, and program alumni have secured $800M+ in follow-on funding, deployed 5,000+ follow-on projects, and created 900 jobs in manufacturing, construction, and technology.
