The Clean Fight Welcomes Anchor Customer Collaborators NineDot Energy, Con Edison, National Grid, and Pilot Partner NYCEDC to its Latest Deployment Accelerator
We’re thrilled to announce the involvement of our anchor customer partners in the sixth edition of The Clean Fight focused on energy storage deployment in New York State. They include energy storage developer NineDot Energy, utilities Con Edison and National Grid, and pilot partner New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). These are leaders in the field looking to help New York State achieve its ambitious goal of 6 GW of energy storage by 2030 and reinforce the State’s position as a hub for energy storage innovation, development, and manufacturing. Watch out for future announcements on customer collaborators in additional energy storage segments coming soon.

Why Focus on Energy Storage?
Developing energy storage—the batteries, microgrids, and other technologies that allow us to manage energy fluctuations, access backup power, and produce clean energy when we need it, where we need it—is key to realizing a resilient, electrified future. This is especially true for high-demand regions like New York State that have a broad spectrum of grid needs.
There is vast, untapped potential for energy storage deployment in New York State and significant momentum behind the industry—from the State’s approval of the New York Energy Storage Roadmap 2.0, to the establishment of a national hub to test and manufacture next-gen batteries, and the creation of the New Energy New York coalition as a hub for manufacturing, testing, workforce development, and innovation. There is also a robust ecosystem of actors ready to support the energy storage industry’s growth, including the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), a nation-leading state agency driving clean energy market growth, and energy storage experts New York Battery and Energy Storage Technology Consortium (NY-BEST).
