Yotta Energy produces distributed energy products, including a solar battery that integrates behind rooftop solar panels. The integrated system combines distributed storage, module-level inverters, and smart controls to optimize when energy is generated, stored, and used.
Integrated solar-plus-storage system, enabling buildings to generate and intelligently use solar energy
Description
Yotta's integrated solar-plus-storage system turns solar generation in to a flexible, cost-optimizing system —combining distributed rooftop batteries with module-level microinverters it stores excess solar energy to discharge when electricity is most expensive. This reduces demand charges, shifts energy to peak pricing periods, captures otherwise wasted solar energy, and lowers upfront system costs by enabling higher DC:AC ratios and modular, right-sized installations.
Yotta Block (YB-1) is a 1 kWh distributed energy storage module that integrates behind photovoltaic modules on commercial rooftops. DPI-208 and DPI-480 are native 3-phase for 208V or 480V grid connection. They support up to four high-capacity PV modules, can be used for solar-only or solar-plus-storage applications, and integrate with Yotta Block. Yotta Vision EMS is a software platform for EPCs and facilities managers to deploy, remotely monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain Yotta energy systems in real time, including load control, battery storage, solar, generators, and EV charging technologies. It supports demand-charge reduction and utility-cost reduction through time-of-use and peak-shaving strategies.
Use Cases
Explore demand response or Virtual Power Plants to reduce utility costs
Install solar panels and/or energy storage/batteries
Electrify your building
Reduce building energy/utility costs
Key Differentiators
First of its kind - Yotta's system includes the first modular solar battery that integrates behind rooftop solar panels
Efficient use of space - The system features istributed storage behind PV modules, rather than dedicated battery storage space
Future proofed - It offers a retrofittable, plug-and-play architecture and modular scaling in 1 kWh increments
Cost Savings - It is designed to reduce soft costs and variable EPC costs relative to centralized storage approaches. In addition, the microinverter can be used for solar-only or solar-plus-storage at a price stated as equivalent to string inverters.
Smart features - It boasts a low-voltage design; passive thermal regulation
Cost Savings
Yotta's system reduces upfront project costs through a plug-and-play design that avoids additional infrastructure and lowers installation and soft costs compared to traditional storage systems. It also lowers utility costs by storing excess solar energy and using it during peak periods, reducing demand charges and reliance on grid electricity. In addition, the system improves energy utilization by capturing and using on-site solar that would otherwise be curtailed, enables ongoing savings through peak-shaving strategies supported by Yotta Vision, and reduces long-term operating costs through a modular, distributed, low-voltage design that simplifies maintenance, troubleshooting, and minimizes downtime.

Data + Performance
Yotta Vision provides system-level and module-level visibility across the solar and storage system, enabling real-time remote monitoring, analysis, and troubleshooting. It tracks performance at the solar module and microinverter level, displays system output over time, and sends alerts on performance issues or events.
Future Proofing
The system supports future upgrades through a retrofittable, plug-and-play, and modular design that scales in 1 kWh increments. It allows for phased deployment, such as installing microinverters initially and adding storage later as needs evolve.
